Waterford is a city on the River Suir in County Waterford, founded by Vikings in 914 AD and considered Ireland's oldest city. Census 2022 recorded a population of 60,079, the fifth-largest in the state. Reginald's Tower, a 13th-14th century structure retaining its Norse name, is the oldest urban civic building in Ireland and now houses a museum. The city is historically associated with Waterford Crystal, produced there since 1783.
